Let's face it – situations change while homes are going up, and sometimes people just change their minds. So we work to accommodate change, in the design stage (altering room size to accommodate a larger closet, for instance) or in the construction phase (changing window placement after a wall’s been erected).

We encourage our clients to visit their homes while they are under construction. Watch the home being built so you can see that the house you planned coming to life. Actually walk through your house after the walls are framed so you can experience the space, not just imagine it. It’s much easier to make sound changes to a home under construction if the people responsible for building it look at it every day. It’s another reason we keep Fretz/Simonds streamlined—making changes is often more complicated with a big company.

Most of our customers don’t have years of experience in home construction. That’s why it’s important that we “live with” them throughout the building process. They know we’ll be there to address any issues or concerns. It’s the best way we know to make the experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

Company Size and Personal Involvement

We don't produce the number of homes that many of the large scale, production-style builders do, so Bill Simonds and John Fretz are able to be directly involved in every major step with every home they build. John and Bill work with you from the start. They know what matters to you as a home buyer, and represent you throughout the process. This entails much more than handing the working prints to contractors. It’s done right because John and Bill do the scheduling, oversee the construction, and keep you involved and apprised at every step.

Running Lean to Maximize Value

We’re a tight shop with low operating costs. In our offices in, Emmaus, employees include John Fretz and Bill Simonds, a full-time supervisor and a bookkeeper.

That’s it! We don’t have the overhead that adds extra cost to the price of building a house. No taxes and mortgage on a big office building, no big utility bills, no huge staff - and you as the home buyer benefit directly.
